HOW DO I PUT MY SWIM CAPS ON CORRECTLY?
We strongly recommend cupping your hands inside your cap, slowly stretching the cap out and onto your head. This method avoids fingernails piercing the cap. Do not, under any circumstance pull the sides of a silicone cap down over your head, as this will most likely tear the silicone.
No matter how you choose to put your cap on, the most important thing is to make sure you know where the seam is meant to go. The seam is meant to line up with the middle of your forehead and end at the nape of your neck. Putting it on so that the seam stretches ear to ear is not a good idea and will mean your cap won’t fit properly. Make sure the cap is securely in the middle of your forehead and not placed too high; too high means it could slip off mid competition or swim.
If you aren’t too fussed about keeping your hair dry, wetting your hair a little or the inside of the cap before you put it on can help it to stick to your head more efficiently.
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY SWIM CAP?
Looking after your brand new swim cap properly will help you to extend their lifespan. Silicone caps are known to last several years with regular use and regular care. Our top tips for looking after your swimming caps are:
- Wash it in new freshwater after each use to rinse your cap off from any chlorine, mineral, salt or other things found in open water or pools. If you leave swim caps with chlorine and salt on them, those minerals can end up degrading your swim cap over time.
- Dry your cap properly before putting it away
- Sprinkle a little bit of baby powder on the inside of your cap to help absorb any moisture, to keep the cap stretchy and dry, ready to use next time!
- Keep swim caps out of the sun while not in use to avoid degrading and fading damage.
WHAT CAN I DO IF I RECEIVE MY SWIM CAP AND IT DOES NOT FIT?
With our range of caps, due to hygiene reasons, we can only accept returns if the cap has not been worn, ie if you have changed your mind about the colour. Send them back to us unused, with all the stickers still on, and in the original packaging that it came in within 30 days, and we'll provide you with a refund minus shipping. We want to make sure you find your perfect fit, so consider your head size when selecting the right cap.
